Sewage stoppers

The pressure of floodwater can force sewage and waste back into your house if measures aren’t taken to prevent it. Non-return valves are installed between your house and the sewer to prevent backflow.

An excellent solution:

  • in areas with high water tables, low-lying areas or flood risk areas where backing up of rainwater is possible;
  • for building protection where the building is below the upper level of the sewer;
  • for protection of systems using septic tanks or cesspools due to over capacity or high water tables;
  • to avoid back-flow where the main sewer (or section of a system) network has the possibility of being overloaded or where the main sewer is operating at a high flow rate

Forge Valves

The Forge Anti-Flood sewer valve has been designed to prevent backflow from surcharging sewers.

Wherever there is danger from rising water backing up into property through the drainage system the valve will close off the backflow automatically to prevent flood damage. In a combined sewer system we recommend that rainwater run off is treated separately until the flooding subsides.

Forge valves have now been used to protect many basement flats and low lying properties previously affected by foul and combined sewers unable to cope with abnormal weather conditions.

The Forge Valve is float operated forcing a closure of the pipe when backflow occurs.

Increased backflow pressure on the flap forces it tighter closed.

The valves are light and can easily be carried into awkward places.

No tools are required to remove the lid and gloved hands can easily remove the wing nuts.

The seal between lid and valve body is designed for life and will not need to be replaced when the valve is opened.

Float and flap assembly lift out with gloved hand once lid is removed. No tools required.

Lid bolts remain attached to valve body when wing nuts are removed.

The valve is made from polypropylene which is extremely durable and resistant to chemicals. This smooth material resists the build up of fat and can easily be cleaned with a hose.

The air release valve ensures a quick reaction to rising water levels.

Available from stock with prompt delivery to suit pipe diameters of 100 mm, 150 mm, 225 mm and 300 mm, other diameters can be manufactured to special order.

The Forge Anti-Flooding valve is made for connection into public or domestic gravity sewer situations where flooding occurs. It will safeguard low lying property by preventing backflow from a surcharged sewer.

The valve, which is manufactured from lightweight polypropylene may easily be handled by one man and should be fitted into a separate inspection chamber using flexible pipe couplings.

The valve is of patented British design and manufacture, it will operate under flood conditions even where the pipe gradient is flat.

HepVO

HepVO is a hygienic self-sealing valve designed to close the waste connection below a sanitary appliance to prevent the escape of foul sewer air into the dwelling.

HepVO actively eliminates negative pressure within the waste system by opening and allowing in fresh air until a state of equilibrium with atmosphere is reached. This means that venting of the waste system, or the inclusion of air admittance valves in the waste system is no longer necessary.

The HepVO valve means enhanced plumbing design and system efficiency, without compromising performance or risking the escape of foul air into the living space from the drain or sewer.

The HepVO valve can be installed vertically or horizontally (with an adaptor) and is available in 32mm and 40mm.

  • Please note the above picture is of valve, knuckle adaptor and running adaptor - these items need to be ordered individually
  • Prevents the escape of foul sewer air from waste discharge systems.
  • Actively maintaining a pressure equilibrium in soil and waste installations.
  • Material: Polypropylene
  • Colour: White
  • Universal Compression Outlet
  • Certification: WIMLAS Certificate Number 042/97 - Revision 1, June 1998

Inflateable Bag

Inflatable PVC Sealing Bags are ideal for use in areas where access is smaller than the test diameter.

Bags are fitted with a Schrader Valve for inflating the Bag. Use a Foot Pump or Bicycle Pump to inflate.

Maximum care must be excercised when inflating the Bags. Rapid inflation will lead to the Bag bursting.
DO NOT try to over inflate.

At the maximum inflation, the sealing area will be severely restricted, reducing the maximum allowable Back Pressure.

1m and 3m Extension Hoses can be supplied for remote inflation of the Bags.

Pan Seal

The unique Aquatite 'Panseal' was specially designed to prevent sewage back flow through the toilet system. The unit is made up in two parts:
Part One: Main Body
Part Two: Expansion Seal

Main Body
The inner part or 'main body' is manufactured by injection molding, a thermoplastic polymer. The material used is ABS, a chemical resistant plastic. The outer section is formed in a semi-circle shape to accommodate the expansion seal.

Expansion Seal Round rubber tubing forms the outer part of the Panseal, which is bonded to the main body. Chemical resistant rubber is used allowing the tubing to expand, creating a double seal. A watertight seal is achieved between tubing and the inner wall of the pan and a secondary seal is formed underneath the rim. A Schrader valve is fitted to the tube for air inflation.

Operation The 'Panseal' is positioned directly below the pan rim. Air is applied via the Schrader valve and the expansion takes place creating the required seal. To deflate, press the centre plunger of the Schrader valve.

Pipe Bung

Cost effective durable Steel Plug with Single Rubber Seal.

Available from 40mm up to 450mm.

Pressure Plates are made of steel pressings. Bottom Pressure Plate is welded to the Waterway to give a gas tight seal. Rubber Seals are commercial grade rubber mouldings. Chemical resistant Rubber Seals can be supplied. Thrustwashers are fitted as standard on all sizes. All steel components are zinc plated - corrosion resistant to 90 hours salt spray test.

Appropriate bracing or support will substantially increase the ability of the Plug to hold back higher pressures.
