Products
Most of the products we provide can be seen at our demonstration facility in Norfolk. We also conduct
On-site surveys of your requirements, from
which we produce a report with recommendations. You can also complete a
self-survey from which we can make a free
initial assessment of your requirements, and the likely costs of meeting them.
Household protection products aim to stop water and effluents entering your home in the event
of a flood. Many barriers are easily attached to discreet, permanent fittings on your
property, whilst some require no permanent fittings. IFDP can recommend and fit products to
suit standard doorways and windows,
patios, air-bricks, driveway entrances,
shop fronts and commercial premises. These offer excellent levels of protection when combined
with appropriate preparation. You might also like to consider means of
preventing backflow from the sewers, and
seepage through floors that enters your
house before it can do any damage.
For relatively little cost, you can protect your possessions and home against the worst
damage of flooding with IFDP's Emergency Kits.
There is a great range of products for protecting larger areas, and more extreme flood risks.
Some of these are relocatable and suitable for use in emergencies
(see temporary products), some are designed
with discreet permanent footings for more regular flood events
(see demountable products) whilst others are
engineered for specific openings in existing defences
(see engineered gates). Our knowledge of flood
risks and possible solutions, and independent stance, enables us to find the right system,
or combination of systems to defend businesses and communities from flooding.
Sand bags are an inefficient, costly way of protecting against flooding. But communities,
companies and councils can at least minimise the effort required to fill them with the nicely
made Sand-hopper, or elect to use the high-tech direct
replacement, the IFDP FloodBag.
Some systems benefit from a maintenance programme. IFDP will automatically inform you when
components of your flood defences should be inspected or replaced.
